Avocado face masks are one of the best DIY homemade masks for your face. With natural ingredients such as biotin, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12 and folate, you can’t go wrong with using an avocado in your face mask. Before I list the recipe for the avocado face mask I use, let me list why each of the major vitamins that is in the avocado can benefit your skin. I also use an avocado hair mask for my natural hair.

Biotin

Biotin is great for your hair, skin and nails. It also helps your skin remain healthy.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A assists with forming and maintaining healthy skin. It is also considered an ‘age fighter’.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is needed for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body including your skin. Dr. Oz recently did a study on the importance of increasing your vitamin c intake to maintain elasticity and youthful skin.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is already produced in your skin so having it in your avocado face mask can only bring more benefits.

Vitamin

Vitamin E moisturizes your skin.

Vitamin K

Vitamin K can be used to assist with healing acne, bruises, rosacea and other skin conditions.

Thiamine (Vitamin B1)

Thiamine is necessary for healthy skin, teeth, bones and hair.

Avocado Face Mask Recipe

1 Whole Ripe Avocado

1 Tablespoon of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

1 Teaspoon of Organic Honey

Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice

This is the avocado face mask I use and it leaves my face feeling wonderful. Listed below are the reasons I use each ingredient in this mask.

  • Avocado – Avocado is a natural moisturizer and has plenty of vitamins that are beneficial to skin.
  • Extra Virgin Coconut Oil – Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer and is known to penetrate deep into skin tissue while clarifying, moisturizing and cleansing.
  • Organic Honey – Honey is a natural humectant and is known to clarify pores. Therefore, not only will it moisturize your skin but it will also clean it.
  • Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice – Lemon juice naturally fades scars and can heal acne. (Lemon Juice for acne reviews)

Let me know how this mask works for you in the comments below. The ingredients aren’t expensive and you should be able to use the coconut oil and honey for many uses.
